The Rhino Runner from Labock Techonologies is hand made built from the chasis up. It is used in Iraq between the secure Green Zone in Baghdad and Baghdad International Airport. It provides protection against armor piercing bullets and bomb blasts. One account of the bus’s toughness was an incident on November 27, 2004 where a suicide bomber driving a BMW sedan veered and detonated an estimated 250 pounds of expolsives into a convoy of three Rhinos. The hugh explosion generated a crater more than 6 diameter and 2 feet deep in the asphalt road and also created a dust cloud of 1000 feet long. The 17 military and civilian contract passengers on the second Rhino Runner Bus did not receive any injuries from the explosion.
